Why Pray?   Reasons
(Part 1) by Julie Anne Hood
Good question!  Why should we pray? There are many reasons why?

I hope in the next few articles that you, too, will see and understand why we should pray.

Several months ago our church formed an emergency prayer chain for life and death situations.  The day after it was formed, a call came in for a young
mother who had elective surgery and had gotten a staff infection.  The infection was winning and the doctors didn't give her much hope to survive.  She
was so weak that she couldn't lift her spoon to feed herself.  That's when they called our emergency prayer chain.  The call went out and people started
praying.  Slowly this young  mother's health started turning around and day by day she began to get stronger.  It took her almost a month to regain her
health completely and return to work, but her life was spared because we prayed.

You see, without God's help man CAN NOT,
and without man praying, God WILL NOT, this is why we pray.
               Scripture says, "
Ask, and it shall be given", and

"We don't have because we don't ask".

There are many requests that people need God's help on and so we list them for  YOU to join us in praying over them.

"Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you
ASK for it, will be done for you by my Father in heaven".    (Matthew 18-19).

                                                                                                 In James 5:16, it says,
"The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man a man in right standing with God)
makes tremendous power available (dynamic in its working)".

So, let us join together to pray for ourselves and for the needs of others, and watch as our God who hears and answers prayer begins to work miracles
and change lives.
