In the middle of the city, in the midst of a drought, in the shade of a grand old elm tree,  was a cool puddle.
In that puddle stood a hawk; a fledgling really.  He still had a small dot of his baby fluff attached.
He was not afraid of us as we drove close to where he stand.  How strange a sight!
Hawks do not frequent this area.  He was not injured, nor did he appear to be ill.
As we drove past the Lord spoke to me asking “What do you see and why were these things here”?
I mentally responded,  Well, I don’t know!  But I began thinking.

The hawk was standing in the puddle, unafraid of our car. It seemed at perfect peace.
With the heat rising well over 100 degrees,  and no other water in sight,
that puddle was at that moment more important to his physical well being than his fear of us.
I was reminded of some verses in Matthew 6:25-34 where God told how He supplies all our needs.
I noticed He had supplied that puddle and shade for that little hawk.

When we leave home; when we struggle, or when we are frightened
and think we are walking alone, God is there to help us.
He won’t leave us.  He wants to supply everything we need,
even if it’s a cool puddle.  All we need to do is call on Him.

Why are we having this difficulty in the first place?  God is all good, and all wise.
He knows the end from the beginning.  He sees the total picture.
We may not understand everything, but we need His direction.
I know that when we go through a difficult time wet learn from it and grow strong.
Only in adversity can we grow strong and confident.

The Holy Spirit guides us, teaches us, and comforts us along the way.
If we listen to that small voice of God, He will show us the way.
He will give us the answers we need (not necessarily the ones we want).
Isn’t it time we started trusting in  the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit to guides us?
After all, God loves us more than that little hawk.

The Word says that even the hairs of your head are numbered (Matthew 10:30).
God loves us so much!  No one else cares that much.
Most people don’t even want to know your name.
But God loves us so much that He sent His Son, Jesus to make a way for us.
Because Jesus came to earth, died  and rose again, just for our salvation,
we can live in love & peace in Heaven.
That is what I call ultimate love.  WOW!

So what is keeping us from accepting
Jesus as our Lord and Savior?
How is this done? It is easy.  Just say…..
THE  HAWK
