In today’s modern American English, many words have sometimes different meanings
than what they meant at the time of King James. This sometimes makes our Bible
(which was translated at the time of King James) difficult to understand.
Meditation, according to Webster’s Dictionary is:
Close or continued thought; the turning or revolving of a subject in the mind;
serious contemplation; mental reflection.
“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Thy sight.”
-Psalms 24:14
Philippians 4:8 in the Amplified Bible says----
“Whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly,
whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind,
and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence,
if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh
and take account of these things (fix your mark on them).”
God wants us to meditate on Him, and His Word. If everything we read, and talk about,
and dwell on is God and His Word, then He will be our center, our God.
And that is what a bride should do.
Think about Him. Read about Him. Listen intently to Him. Talk to Him.
How else can we become more like Him?
We must all strive for perfection, and our Lord God Jehovah is the perfect roll model.
Let us meditate on Him all day, every day. When driving, washing dishes,
and at all other times we can praise God for all He has done.
Then, just listen. He will talk to you.
