How Many Must Perish?

by Kathleen Puccio
“Two hundred and ten souls perished”, the newscaster reported after a flight crashed in Florida.
Wow, what a powerful statement!  Not only did it tell of the death of all of those people,
but it brought to my mind that not even one of those souls was saved.
The world cannot understand that when a Christian hears someone say that souls perished,
it means that the souls are going to hell for all eternity, with no hope of being “saved” and living eternity with our Lord.

Jesus cared enough to give His life for each soul on Earth and that no one need perish but be saved.
Most things perish for lack of care.  When I was at the store, I asked myself if I cared enough to give the people
I saw the information they would need to be saved.
I looked into the eyes of a couple of people and I knew the answer.

Each time you see a group of people, stop and wonder how many of those souls will perish.
Some of them will not see tomorrow.   Look at them; each of them.
Soon, like me, you will look for opportunities to witness to them of our Lord, Jesus.
It could mean one more soul will be saved, and one less will perish.

How many souls will perish because we just could not take the time, or will it be because we just don’t care?
It only takes a couple of minutes to tell the “good news” to a person who has never heard;
and there are a lot of people in America who have never heard that there is hope.
They have never heard of Jesus.  Or if they have, it was used as a curse word.
Even if their answer is less than positive, the seed was planted;
a seed that the Holy Spirit can use to bring them to repentance.

Too many times we don’t do anything for fear that someone will ridicule us, or for fear that we may offend them.
I don’t know about you, but I’d rather run the risk of offending them than offending Jesus.
Remember, that if we are not ashamed to tell others of Jesus,
He won’t be ashamed to speak on our behalf to His Father in Heaven.
I don’t want to stand on the Day of Judgment and hear that, because I did nothing, even one soul perished.

How many more must perish because of you let opportunity go?

                                                OPPORTUNITIES AWAIT!

            I think we should take every opportunity to share the love of Jesus with people because
                                it could mean the difference between the eternal life and eternal death.
